Reading through the topic about the Original Scarface got me to thinking, I haven't really seen many really old movies. I haven't even seen Gone with the Wind. So what do you think is the oldest movie you've seen and enjoyed?

I can't think of anything older than the Wizard of Oz (1939), which is one of my all time favorites.

Oohhh that would have to be Metropolis (1927) . It was a German silent film that defined a lot of things for the Sci-fi genera and is considered by many to be a classic. Worth a watch!

Yea Wizard of Oz is a great flick!

Weird as it sounds... Birth of a Nation (1915). The story and acting was so so... in modern oppinion. But the skill of the videography was honestly astounding.

It is funny, Netflix just delivered me Metropolis:)

I'd be interested to know what you think when you watch it.

While not THAT old Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) has got to be a top 5 movie for me.

I've always wanted to see Metropolis! That was one of those movies that was always on my list at Netflix and BBV, but just kept getting pushed back. It looked very revolutionary as far as visual effects for the time. I didn't even know it was a silent film so glad to hear that so I'll know. One of these days... ;)

I watched it, but I watched it with some friends, and that's the kind of movie you've gotta watch on your own, or you won't pay much attention lol, anyway, I joined that.
But the oldest movie I've seen and enjoyed is certainly Psycho (1960) :)

Yea Psycho was a bad film either.

Jello what were your thoughts on Metropolis? I'd be interested in hear what you think after you see the film.
