I'm not trying to make enemies.

I love taking my computer apart and putting it back together. It's a rush of sorts. Something is wrong with my computer and I fix it without help, a great feeling. At this point in time, I cease to have problems with my computers because I have been self-disciplined to do it all myself.

True true, I used to be the exact same and took pride in my built pc. However I've grown tired of upgrading / fixing etc and decided to take a backseat ride.

I've got no personal quarrels with PC's or Windows (In fact I think XP is a excellent OS ... Vista is another animal :blackeye: ).

The point I was making originally was that I ritualized my office PC with little hassle ... thought it was pretty cool how easy you can do that.

word to that dude.

and i completely agree on vista. i refuse to use it and don't understand why they couldn't have made a better XP instead. i will not use vista until it is re-released several times. although it does support direct 10x graphics which is a must for some of the new games coming out. but then again, to support 10x you need a enough ram to run vista and 10x smoothly. so there are trade-offs.

if i won the lottery, then i would have vista. haha.

The lovely argument of computers LOL

Macs do have a longer life span, before you say things please do your research. We have a lot of back-up storage (if you use .mac services) I have had my imac G5 since Dec 04, no regrets whatsoever. Waiting on lepard to install, only a few more days. I know someone who bought a computer about 2 months before I did, guess what they are buying after Leopard comes out?? a mac

and I know one of the creators of Vista (a company was hired to write the programs) and they are mac users all the way  Vista was made to compete with the uprising of the mac line(Panther/Tiger/Leopard) I have to get ready to go somewhere, but will try to remember to look for article later. But Vista is stated to be a baby to Panther. The mac line is much more advanced. That is why Vista was created, competetion.

That's a hard and bias hit. For the sake of not turning this thread into an argument, i won't retort. But know that if you are going to make a statement like that, don't be cocky about it and assume that i didn't do "research" and that your opinion > mine. It boils down to preference as I stated in my last post. A mac or a PC, either can last as long as a user wants it to with proper maintenance.
