Under any given situation, you have no choice but to be either blind or deaf. Which one do you side with and why? Please put an explanation, don't just answer the poll. Otherwise this thread is worthless. =]

(I'm assuming everyone here isn't blind because you can see the computer screen and that you aren't deaf because...well...this is a music forum. Ha)

Thats a tough one ...

I think I would rather go blind more so because blind people seem to function fairly well in society without sight. Not to mention I love music to much to give up being able to listen to it :P

My thoughts exactly.
Blind people seem to be alright in society (but i'm not going to say that too boldly, lest a blind person comes into the forums and somehow reads that phrase and starts criticizing my shallow views of everyone outside of myself and how I have it so well off)
But i couldn't give up music. I just couldn't give it up. Just imagine life being silent.
*shivers*

Deaf without a doubt.

I don't need my ears to do my job, but without my eyes, I'd be unemployed or searching another career field. I work as an artist, and I've always thought like one. I'm a very visual person in every aspect of my life.

On the other hand, there's a few people who I have to listen to on a daily basis who I wouldn't mind not being able to hear.

Deaf! You wouldn't know how much you missed music if you'd never heard of it.

I'm quite claustraphobic so the thought of blindness is scaaaaaaaary!

Deaf no questions, seeing seems much more important to hearing. Especially if your meeting a woman? I don't even want to think of what could possibly happen in some of those situations. Also being blind would suck for so many other reasons, the only problem with being deaf is you can't have a conversation with someone unless they know sign language. Now that I'm done typing this it is a hard choice.

Let me put it this way:

In my own mind, I feel that if I was blind, I could paint a picture of what is around me using the things I hear. I could listen to musicians perform, I would never experience stereotypes by what people looked like.

If I was deaf, I could see everything, but I could not create the sounds around me the same way I could paint a picture of where I'm going. A sound is a sound. If someone plays a G on a trumpet, it is a G on a trumpet. I'm not going to try to explain it further. If you understand what i'm saying, sweet!
