Just placed a order for the download ... here is the text I got back:

Quote:
your unique activation code(s) will be sent out later this morning 10th oct(uk time).
this code/link will take you straight to the download area.

here is some information about the download:

the album will come as a 48.4mb zip file containing 10 x 160kbps drm free mp3s.

most computers now have zip software as part of the operating system; if your computer does not, you need to get winzip or zipit installed prior.

you can download them here:
pc: http://www.winzip.com/
mac: http://www.maczipit.com/

if you have any questions or problems downloading your file, please contact our download customer service team at downloadinrainbows@waste.uk.com

I've had the chance to listen to it on the subway this morning. Great album!

I'll post more thoughts when I get a chance later tonight.

I'm just trying to figure out why OiNK is allowing 160 upload on the site. Why don't they wait for someone to get at least 192.

Maybe it's because 192 isn't available yet, so they are allowing 160.

But still.....

And yeah, please post your thoughts! I want to know what i'm getting into as soon as i hear the first sound from the track through the last fading tone of the closing song.
And if you can, in that review of sorts, how does it compare to OK Computer? Or try to relate it to that album in some way. If not, it's chill though. Peace.

I assume you have already acquired the CD so I'm interested in your thoughts.

I too am a big Radiohead fan. I have yet to go out and buy the CD (I am on a college budget here), but it is on my list of things to buy.

Any tracks I should particularly listen to?

I think that's amazing that they are offering the download on their site, and you pick how much you pay for it. What a unique move on their part. The interesting thing though is that I read a report today that many people are still downloading it from illegal piracy sites, even though they have the option to download it for free, legally, straight from the source if they chose to pay $0.

I still haven't listened to it, but am highly anticipating giving it a listen this weekend.

You should ... and I find that interesting too. I guess people just wouldn't feel right directly ripping off the Artists.

I didn't mind paying a few bucks though ... well worth it!

It's a shame I feel. I think for most it's just a matter of convenience. Now that should tell you something is wrong when it's actually easier to steal something than it is to buy it.

True but you've got to give radiohead a gold sticker for trying!

Exactly.

Are they even going to sell the actual hard copy at all? Or are they keeping it strictly on the net? I would be very interested to hear it in 320 or even Lossless...
