Very loosely. I try to keep all my stuff in vague order, at the very least, though.

A tip for you guys using windows ... as I used to use one (up to like 3 weeks ago when I bought my mac :P )

There is a great program called tag & rename (google it) that allows you to name folders of music at a time (if its cd for instance).

As long as the music is in the same folder and in the same order as a cd ... you type in the artist and CD name ... it goes to amazon and downloads all the track information and album art ... then places it in the tags.

It worked wonders for my original collection.

No way! I'm checking that shit out.

Mine is organized well enough, but could use a little work. Odds and ends out of place and mis-tagged.

I have around 300Albums and they are all aranged perfectly how i like them.
I have a drive for only music.

Every genre i like has its folder under the Root Drive E:\
Every artist has its own folder under the Genre Folder
Every Album is under its Artist Folder
All songs are in there correct Album Folder

When i download music download Discoveries so i have pretty much every album from every Band/Artist i like. I then have them stored under one of the many genres of music i listen to, witch are;

Drum and Base
Hardcore
Indie
Metal
Urban
Rock

Everything is alphabetical of course :P

My collection is a mess. I have many albums and songs and they are just thrown in there. It's hard to find something (lucky to have the search function in windows :D)

My CDs are scattered all over the place. I have some together in half a CD rack (The other half is for video games ;)) and I'm not quite sure where all the rest are.

My digital music is mostly organized by genre, some by artist. It's not extremely detailed, but it works well enough for me.
