As an aside. I loaned a calculator to a friend. She took it to school, and one day dropped my Ti-84 on the ground. It was hit by a BUS and a CAR in less than ten seconds. Can we say dead? I really wish she would some day replace it... being she has since graduated college.
Lol ouch. I will say my TI-89 saved my ass in calc 4 ... although we had to learn everything by hand for the tests. I guess that will help me for the gmat next year....
You lost me at Lol. ;D
We definitely rely on them too much, and you shouldn't have a calculator inside elementary school.
But in my opinion we focus on the education of math too much in the first place. Math and Language.
We are human and our bursting forms of creativity are put on the backburner year after year of paid for education when our world could be completely different. Seriously though, COMPLETELY different.
But it's arithmetic and language so that we can boom the business and create more industry to produce more shit.
